David Bates’s La Nuova Musica, one of the most exciting ensembles on the British early music scene, brings a starry team of vocal soloists and a choir with a distinguished pedigree, the Holst Singers, to historic Bath Abbey for this programme devoted to Mozart. Excerpts from his re-orchestrated version of Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus and two beautiful soprano arias precede the Mass in C minor, which even in its unfinished state is one of Mozart’s most glorious works for the church.
