An addition to the Mozartfest calendar this year is this full-length Friday afternoon concert featuring three current and recent members of BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists scheme. The Siberian-born pianist Pavel Kolesnikov contributes solo music by Chopin and Mozart; he joins forces with the Norwegian violist Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad in Brahms’s late E flat Sonata (originally written for clarinet); and the Belgian clarinettist Annelien Van Wauwe adds a woodwind voice in three of the Eight Pieces by Max Bruch, the Fairy Stories by Schumann and the Trio which Mozart is said to have written while playing skittles.
